Elkin Ms. Debera Kay Anderson, age 46, of Saddlebrook Drive, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Anderson was born October 31, 1961 in Alleghany County to Billy & Wanda Byrd Anderson. Debera was a member of Knobbs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Miranda Marie Richardson. Survivors include: Her father and mother, Billy & Wanda Anderson of Elkin; a son, Daniel Dean Barker of Elkin; maternal grandmother, Bessie Byrd of Elkin; paternal grandmother, Iva Anderson of Ronda; two brothers, Donny Ray Anderson of Roaring River, Billy Anderson, Jr. of Traphill; a sister, Deanna Swisher of Elkin; a granddaughter, Haley Marie Richardson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Knobbs Baptist Church by Rev. Danny Bauguess. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ms. Anderson will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Knobbs Baptist Church, Elkin, NC 28621.
