Jonesville, Rev. William James Shore, Sr. age 81, of Hurt Road passed away Friday, July 22, 2005 at his residence. Rev. Shore was born June 25, 1924 in Surry County to William Thomas and Vallie Mathis Harris Shore. Rev. Shore was retired from Unifi and was a member of Island Ford Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Adelee Shore, a son; Donnie Shore, two sisters: Nancy Summers and Thelma Cooper, two brothers: Truman Harris and Ora Harris Shore. Survivors include: two sons and daughter in law: William James "Jim" Shore of Florence, SC, Eddie Glen Shore and wife Alice of Jonesville, a daughter in law Janice Shore of Yadkinville, two sisters: Beulah Stanley of Courtney and Mary Shore of Hamptonville, three grandchildren: Amanda Ayers and husband David, David Shore, and Andrew Shore, one great grandchild Brady Ayers. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 24, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at Island Ford Baptist Church by Rev. Conrad Hatfield. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Rev. Shore will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
