Mrs. Minnie Ruth Anthony, age 82 of Austin Traphill Road passed away Saturday December 22, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Anthony was born June 4, 1925 in Yadkin County to Sanford G. and Rosa Hutchens Ashley. She was a homemaker and a member of East Elkin Full Gospel Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Cletus Anthony; eight brothers and three sisters. Survivors include: one daughter Ann Carter and her husband Monty of Elkin; four sisters, Betty Marion of Winston Salem, Era Mae Vestal of Jonesville, Pat Swaim and her husband James also of Jonesville, Versie Mendenhall and her husband Bob of Boonville; three grandchildren, Derek Carter and his wife Wendy, Chris Carter and his wife Anita, and Joel Carter and his wife Teresa; six great grandchildren Devin Carter, Cameron Carter, Bailey Carter, Sydney Carter, Noah Carter and Madeline Carter. Funeral services for Mrs. Anthony will be held at 12:00pm, Monday December 24 at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev Danny Dodds and Rev. Bobby West. Burial will follow at East Elkin Full Gospel Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 11:00am - 12:00pm at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
