Ronda Mrs. Frances Lena Burchette Pardue, age 83, of J.A. Russell Road, passed away Friday, March 4, 2005 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Pardue was born December 3, 1921 in Surry County to Lewis Clay & Ardella West Burchette. Mrs. Pardue was a charter member of Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church where she was past Sunday school teacher, a member of the women's circle and choir. She was known by everyone as "Granny". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Ralph Pardue, two sisters, Mary Dehart, Callie Cothern; a brother, Thurmond Burchette. Survivors include: two sons, Clayton Pardue of Yadkinville, Donnie Pardue and wife Kathy of Ronda; two daughter, Kay Bullins and husband Roy of Elkin, Brenda Hutson and husband Leslie of Ronda; a brother, Lewis Burchette of Boonville; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Don Ball, Rev. Jimmy Welborn and Rev. Olin Barker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. Mrs. Pardue will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church.
