Ronda Mr. Lewis Grant Roberts, age 66, of Elkin Hwy. 268, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Roberts was born January 18, 1942 in Wilkes County to Grant & Mae Engle Roberts. Mr. Roberts was retired from Vaughn Bassett and was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Dottie Roberts of the home; two sisters, Helen Myers of Elkin, Sarah Reavis of Ronda; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Priscilla & Robert Wood of Troutville, VA; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Maple Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Roberts will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Maple Springs United Methodist Church.
