Irene Shore Jones

December 28, 1921 — August 31, 2008

Mrs. Irene Shore Jones, age 86 of Bagley Springs Rd. passed away Sunday August 31, 2008 at Elkin Health Care. Mrs. Jones was born December 28, 1921 in Surry County to John Wesley and Mary Ella Whitaker Shore. Mrs. Shore was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Eugene Jones Sr., and four brothers, Paul W. Shore, Cecil Shore, Billy Shore , and Benjamin Shore, Survivors include: two sons William Eugene "Gene" Jones Jr. and his wife Nancy of Ronda and Johnny Jones and his wife Donna of Elkin; one sister Josephine Mathis and her husband Junior of Jonesville and five grandchildren, Michelle Jones of Wilmington, Scarlett Jones of Charlotte, Wesley Jones, Patrick Jones both of Raleigh, and Kinsey Jones of Greensboro. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Bethel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Daron Brown. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friend's one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
