Jonesville Mr. Robert A. "Bob" Gilliam, age 74, of Shaffner Road Jonesville passed away Sunday December 23, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mr. Gilliam was born January 20, 1933 to Don S. and Myrtle Harris Gilliam. Mr. Gilliam was a graduate of Ronda High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Gilliam retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company and was a member and former deacon of Jonesville First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Rex Gilliam, a sister, Kathleen Pardue, a sister in law, Evelyn Gilliam and two brothers in law, Gray Casstevens and Glenn Pardue. Survivors include, his wife Dorothy Wagoner Gilliam of the home. One daughter, Sandra Simpkins and husband Scott of Oak Ridge, NC. Two brothers, Flake Gilliam of Jonesville and Charles Gilliam and wife Bobbie Ann of Ronda. A sister, Norma Casstevens of Jonesville. A Grandson, Grant Simpkins. Funeral services will be held Thursday December 27, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Jonesville First Baptist Church by Rev. Roger Hensley and Rev. Charles Lethcoe. Mr. Gilliam will lie instate thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
