Elkin Mrs. Blanche A. Key, age 90 of Roxie Clark Road, passed away July 20, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Key was born August 27, 1917 in Surry County to Zebedee & Lula Jane Chipman Adams. Mrs. Key was a homemaker and a member of Austin Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Autie Key; three brothers and eight sisters. Survivors include: five sons, Billy Key and wife Dellaphine of Jonesville, Bobby Key and wife Willa of State Road, Alan Key and wife Gemmie of Elkin, Roger Key and wife Janet of Yadkinville, Ricky Key and wife Vickie of Roaring River; a daughter, Kathy Key of King; eight grandchildren, Mike Key, Tammy Key, Denise Rector, James Autie Key, Jamie Key, Adam Key, Gus Key and Gunnar Key; eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Austin Baptist Church by Rev. Brian Wiles and Rev. Rex Cranfill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Key will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family would like to say thank you to Mountain Valley Hospice and a special thank you to the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center and Dr. Faulk for all of their love and care.
