Mr. Lonnie Gray Reynolds, age 62, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Reynolds was born January 29, 1948 in Davie County to Lester Gray and Mittie Myers Reynolds. He was a member of Cross Point Baptist Church and was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Reynolds was a member of Yadkin VFW post 10346 and was an organ donor. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his step father Efird Day. Survivors include: his wife Mary Jane Reynolds of the home, his mother Mittie Day of Elkin, son Michael David Minton of Elkin, daughter Angela Minton Cave and husband Christopher of Elkin, brother Lee Reynolds of Elkin, sisters Carolyn Everhart of Elkin and Georgia Smith of Advance, four grandchildren, one step grandchild, and God child Christa Mae Macemore. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Chris Cave and Rev. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to assist with funeral expenses.
