Gertha Collins Medley

July 12, 1912 — January 15, 2005

Elkin Mrs. Gertha Collins Medley, age 92, of Johnson Ridge Road passed away Saturday January 15, 2005 at Elkin Health Care Center. Mrs. Medley was born July 12, 1912 in Surry County to Troy and Martha Parsons Collins. Mrs. Medley retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Medley, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include; A sister, Lela Couch of Elkin. Two Step Daughters, Rosalie Medley Brown and Annie Marie Johnson both of State Road. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 18, 2005 at 11am at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jerry Adams. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11am prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
