Julia Martin Proveaux

State Road Mrs. Julia Martin Proveaux, age 65, of Pleasant Ridge Road, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Proveaux was born April 1, 1943 in Surry County to Howard & Desseree Carter Martin. Julia was a homemaker and a devoted grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Graham Martin. Survivors include: her husband, Jim Proveaux, Sr. of the home; a son, Jimmy Proveaux, Jr. and wife Karen of Wilkesboro; mother, Desseree Martin of State Road; a brother, Jerry Martin of State Road; a sister, Shirley Britt of Ronda; three grandchildren, Jimmy Proveaux, III of the home, Brooke Proveaux and Chad Proveaux of Wilkesboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dennis Love. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the donor's choice.
