Benjamin Jacob Lyon

June 5, 1967 — September 29, 2010

Mr. Benjamin Jacob Lyon, 43 of Traphill, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at his home. Mr. Lyon was born June 5, 1967 in Surry County to Chester and Martha Ellen Cheek Lyon. In addition to his father, Mr. Lyon was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Lyon and Raymond Lyon. He is survived by his wife, Linda Sheets Lyon of the home; a daughter, Cassandra Hawkins and husband Derick of Traphill; four brothers, Steven Lyon and wife Susan of Thurmond, Clyde Lyon and wife Pam of Traphill, John Lyon and wife Terri of Deep Gap, and Tracy Lyon and wife Emily of Thurmond; a sister, Evelyn Luffman and husband Dale of Pleasant Ridge; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 1:00 pm at State Road Primitive Baptist Church with Elder John Lyon and Elder George Flippin officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 N. Bridge Street Elkin, NC 28621. The family wishes to thank WFUBMC Comprehensive Care Center in Elkin and Mountain Valley Hospice for all their loving care during Mr. Lyon½s illness.
