Hodges Funeral Home Elkin, NC Thurmond Mrs. Lala Mae Reynolds, age 87, of Thurmond passed away Friday March 21, 2008 at Britthaven Nursing Center in Wilkesboro. Mrs. Reynolds was born August 9, 1920 in Surry County to Tom Gwyn and Frances Leona Holloway Thomas. Mrs. Reynolds was a homemaker and was a member of Center Baptist Church. Mrs. Reynolds was truly loved by her Church family. She was shown many acts of love and kindness for many years. She returned her love to them by making quilts and giving them as a token of her appreciation. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Garvey Reynolds and six brothers and sisters. Survivors include; Three daughters and sons-in-law, Genivee Freeman and husband Johnny of Elkin, Zola Brooks and husband Roy of Thurmond, Rebecca Gregory and husband Bobby of State Road. Four grandchildren, Annette Rhodes, Jason Brown, Sherry Wilkins, Scott Tucker. Three great grandchildren, Heather Rhodes, Hunter Rhodes, Logan Brown. Funeral services will be held, Monday March 24, 2008 at Center Baptist Church at 11:00 am by Rev. Benny Adams and Rev. Jimmy Gilreath. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Mrs. Reynolds will lie instate thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Center Baptist Church.
