Michael D. "Bud" Ozark 72 resident of St. Maries, ID died January 8, 2011 at his home in St. Maries following an extended illness. He was born May 6, 1938 to Stanley and Verda Shand Ozark at Miles City, MT. He grew up in Glasgow, MT where he attended schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1956. He was stationed in Germany. Following his discharge in 1959 he returned to Glasgow. He married Betty Lou Brown there on September 2, 1959. He worked as a roofer in construction while he lived at Glasgow. He moved to Libby, MT in 1968. He worked putting the roof on Libby Jr. High School. He moved to St. Maries in 1969. He went to work for the Potlatch Plywood Mill. In 1974 he moved to Santa, ID where he managed Santa Cedar. While living there, he served on the Upriver Volunteer Fire Dept. and served on the St. Maries School Board. In 1980, he went to work for Emerald Creek Garnet where he operated heavy equipment reclaiming the land after it had been mined. He retired in 2003. He enjoyed playing golf, Four wheeling, traveling and horseback riding. He was a member of the St. Maries Elks Lodge, the Benewah Co. Sheriff's Posse and the St. Maries Men's Golf Assn. He is survived by his wife Betty at the family home. Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Mike and Tasha Ozark of St. Maries. His daughter Kelly Jensen of St. Maries and daughters and sons-in-law Lisa and J.J. Michael of St. Maries and Jackie and Charlie Grieser of Hayden, ID. Also surviving are brother Cecil Ozark of Nashua, MT , 7 Grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by son J.D. Ozark in 1993 and son-in-law Mike Jensen in 2010.
