Elkin Mrs. Magalene Moxley Parks Day, age 77, of Johnson Ridge Road, passed away Friday, June 29, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Day was born October 20, 1929 in Yadkin County to Paul & Stella Smith Moxley. Mrs. Day was retired from Hanes Hosiery and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roby Parks, second husband, Johnny Day, a daughter, Brenda Shore, stepmother, Joyce Martin Moxley, a sister, Lucille Groce. Survivors include: a daughter, Barbara Goodin and husband Jim of Advance; three grandchildren, Leighann Shore, John Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy; two great grandchildren, Jordan Shore, Madison Shore; a stepson, Eddie Day and wife Tammy of Elkin; a brother, Bill Moxley of Yadkinville; three sisters, Carol Benton of Elkin, Glenda Gilliam of Jonesville, Phyllis Groce of Yadkinville. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Danny Dodds. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
