Elkin Mrs. Emma Lou Darnell Williams, age 82, of Darnell Avenue, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Elkin Healthcare. Mrs. Williams was born December 18, 1924 in Surry County to Hugh C. & Minnie Holbrook Lyons. Mrs. Williams was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and she was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for 35 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James B. Darnell and her second husband, John Williams. Survivors include: two daughters, Hilda Gay Macemore and husband James, Judy White and husband Ted all of Elkin; two brothers, Bill Lyons and wife Susan, Sam Lyons and wife Linda all of Jonesville; a sister, Helen Smith of Mountain Park; two grandchildren, Dr. Larry Macemore and wife Trenda of Ronda, Teresa Brown and husband Tim of North Wilkesboro; three great grandchildren, Chris Macemore, Calvin Macemore and Ethan Brown; a special friend, Sylvia Johnson of Elkin. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Danny Dodds. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Williams will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
