Della Susan Cockerham

August 17, 1920 — January 16, 2008

Elkin Mrs. Della Susan Brooks Cockerham, age 87, formally of Reeves Lane Elkin, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Manor Care in Naperville, Illinois. Mrs. Cockerham was born August 17, 1920 in Wilkes County to Arlie & Flora Bauguess Brooks. Mrs. Cockerham was retired from Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and was a member of West Elkin Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Cockerham, two sisters, Iona Smith, Carrie Maness; a brother, Ivy Brooks. Survivors include: a daughter, Judy Dooley and husband Charles of Naperville, Il; a grandson, Jason Fulton of Lombard, Il; a great grandson, Josh Fulton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
