Mr. Fidell Sale age 89, of Partridge Lane passed away Sunday August 19, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mr. Sale was born February 7, 1918 in Surry County to James Andrew and Kitty Dockery Sale. Mr. Sale was an US Army veteran serving during WW II; he was retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company and a life long member of Elkin First United Methodist Church. Mr. Sale was a volunteer for the Habitat Store, an avid photographer, life long golfer, member of Cedar Brook Country Club, and he loved raising vegetables in his garden and growing fruit trees. In addition to his parents Mr. Sale was preceded in death by a brother James Dockery "Dock" Sale. Survivors include; two sisters Mabel K. Sale of Elkin, and Lena S. Hedrick of High Point, a niece Susan H. Hawks and her husband Jack of High Point, a great nephew Ross Hawks and his wife Katharine of San Diego CA, and a great Niece Sara Beth Hawks of Charlotte. A memorial service for Mr. Sale will be held at 11am Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Elkin First United Methodist Church Chapel conducted by Dr. Charles Baker. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Elkin First United Methodist Church or Hugh Chatham Nursing Center.
