Mrs. Nannie Sue Pardue, age 91 of Elkin, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Heritage Care of Elkin. Mrs. Pardue was born April 13, 1919 in Wilkes County to Dewitt and Julie Ann Mathis Burchette. Mrs. Pardue was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Ronda where she was a choir member and held several offices in the church. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Pardue Grocery in Ronda. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Colin Pardue; brother, Talmadge Burchette; sisters, Libby Byrd, Mozelle Day, and Lucy Day. Survivors include her son, Jerry Pardue and his wife Lucinda of Rocky Mount; brother, Garvey Burchette of Yadkinville; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 1:30 p .m. in Crestwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
