Elkin Mrs. Frieda Dell Dobbins Sexton, age 87, of Austin Traphill Road, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Sexton was born March 14, 1920 in Yadkin County to William Pleasant & Clara Minnie Alice Johnson Dobbins. Mrs. Sexton was a homemaker and was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Paul Martin Sexton, Sr. Survivors include: a son, Martin Sexton and wife Denise of High Point; two daughters, Dale Osmus and husband Rich of Elkin, Cathy Swaim and husband John of East Bend; seven grandchildren, Lynn Price and husband John, Neil Swaim, Brent Stanley, Shawn Swaim and wife Sherri, Andrew Sexton, Melinda Sexton, Elizabeth Pace; five great grandchildren, Kayla Stanley, Breanne Stanley, Emily Price, Laura Price, Olivia Price. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Russ Nixon. Burial will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Cool Springs Baptist Church or to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital Foundation c/o Nursing Center, 180 Parkwood Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.
