Mrs. J. Gail Burchette, age 58, of Elkin, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Burchette was born March 19, 1952 in Wilkes County to Elden & Colleen Wiles Gambill. Mrs. Burchette was retired from Chatham Manufacturing after 33 years of service and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Lester Bauguess of Elkin; one son, Scott Bauguess and fiance Kim Foster of Elkin; Mother, Colleen Gambill of Elkin; Father, Elden Burchette and wife Jean of Roaring River; two stepchildren, Sandra Draughn of Jonesville, Keith Bauguess of New York; three step grandchildren; three sisters, Jodie Bennett and husband Eric of Sparta, Diane Spicer and husband Gerald of Elkin, Sherry Burchette of Roaring River; a brother, Marty Gambill and wife Hannah of Elkin; three nieces; two nephews; two great nieces. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel by Rev. Bobby Norman, Rev. Justin Bauguess and Rev. Doug Combs. Burial will follow in the Bauguess Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, Elkin Healthcare, and Dr. Lesser and staff of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
