Margaret Calloway Key

Ronda Mrs. Margaret Calloway Key, age 82, of Clingman Road passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Key was born February 20, 1925 in Wilkes County to Tom & Sarepta Pardue Calloway. Margaret was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Key; two brothers, Ted Calloway and Shelby Calloway. Survivors include: a son, Lester Key and wife Sharon of Charlotte; a daughter, Shirley Lyon and husband Jack of Ronda; a brother, Bill Calloway and wife Ann of Ronda; special Godchild, Ronda Boykin; three grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Dennis Murphy, Rev. Dwayne Byrd and Rev. Carl Elledge. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Key will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church or to Hospice of Wilkes 1907 West Park Drive, N. Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
