Jonesville Mr. Jack Gray Day, age 78, of Bethel Road passed away Friday, January 12, 2007 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem. Mr. Day was born October 8, 1928 in Wilkes County to Charles and De Etta Hampton Day. Mr. Day was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a retired Pattern Builder with Chatham Manufacturing Co. for forty-two years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Korean Era. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aleine Ingram Day. Survivors include: a son, Mark G. Day of the home; a daughter, Amy Day Royall of Jonesville; Two half brothers: David Day and Jerry Day; a sister, Louise Fuller of Moravian Falls, Six grandchildren: Kellen Day of New Port News, Va., Halle Day of Iredell County, Joseph, Maggie and Ellie Royall, all of Jonesville, John Royall, who is stationed in Japan with the U.S. Navy. A host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 3p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, Jonesville by Rev. Cecil Weatherholt. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by Wilkes County VFW. Mr. Day will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association , Charlotte Office, 222 South Church St., Suite 336M, Charlotte, N.C. 28202 or The National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, New York 10016.
