Elkin Mrs. Eva Sallie Billings Cheek Tucker, age 87, of Tucker Road, Elkin, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at Hoots Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Tucker was born May 15, 1920 in Wilkes County to Samuel D. & Delia Billings. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church and was retired from TG&Y. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Brady Cheek; three sisters, Beatrice Eckhardt, Bertha Newman and Mae Benge. Survivors include: her husband, Robert Tucker of the home; two stepsons, Keith Tucker and wife Rebekah of Lexington, Kenneth Tucker and wife Julia of Elkin; a brother, Arvil "Bud" Billings and wife Milford of State Road; a special nephew, Benny Benge; three step grandchildren, Barry Tucker, Jessica Tucker, Craig Tucker; one step great grandchild, Ella Grace Tucker; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Russ Nixon. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
