Mrs. Bernice Adams, 68 of Wilkesboro, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Adams was born September 21, 1941 to Taft and Christine McCorkle Hately. She was a member of Roaring Gap baptist Church and loved to bake. Mrs. Adams was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and sister. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by a husband Buck Bauguess; a sister Patsy Baker; and a brother E.J. Hatley. She is survived by her husband Tarnie Adams of the home; son Danny Bauguess and wife Lynn of Traphill; daughter, Diane Anderson and husband Gary of Wilkesboro; two brothers Billy Hatley and wife Jean and Jerry Hatley and wife Kim, all of Florida; sister Jennifer Bowers of Plant City, Florida; and three grandchildren Sonya Boone and husband Ryan, Stephanie Bauguess, and Kayla Anderson. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, September 3, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Knobbs Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bauguess and Rev. Ronnie Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Roaring Gap Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service.
