Ronda Mr. Joseph Parks Younger, age 69 of Old Hwy. 60, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Younger was born January 22, 1939 in Wilkes County to Parks & Arizona Macy Younger. Mr. Younger was a member of Dennyville Baptist Church and was retired from Home Beneficial Insurance. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: his wife, Ruby R. Younger of the home; a son, Daren Younger and wife Angela of Catawba; two daughters, Renee Younger, Karla Gentry and husband Greg all of Yadkinville; two stepsons, Roger Dale Cameron of Troy, William Cameron of Winston-Salem; three stepdaughters, Judy Cameron, Brenda Sizemore and Susan Manning all of Kernersville; three sisters, Vivian Welborn and husband Amber of Greensboro, Edith Glass of N. Wilkesboro, Jane Younger of Raleigh; five grandchildren, Jessica Younger, Dylan Younger, Ashley Moore, Kristie Moore, Brittany McNeill; several step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Dennyville Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Lefler. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Younger will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
