Nora Couch Campbell

Nora Couch Campbell, 100, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Mrs. Campbell was born November 11, 1909 in Wilkes County to Silas Houston and Sarah Jane Harpe Couch. She was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Campbell was a wonderful cook who loved people and enjoyed gardening and flowers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband Vander Campbell; brothers Jesse Earl Couch, Johnny Monroe Couch and his wife Lucille; a sister Edna Couch Tulbert and her husband Levi; and a nephew, Jimmy Couch. She is survived by nieces, Emma Jean Carter of Elkin, Sarah Jordan Richards and husband Kenneth of Atlanta, GA, and Shonnie Tulbert Thompson and husband John Sr. of Elkin; a nephew, Earl Tulbert and wife Kay of Union Grove; many great nieces and nephews; and many special friends. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Cool Springs Baptist Church with Rev. David Key, Rev. Russ Nixon, and Rev. Ken Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 pm prior to the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 N. Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28621. The family wishes to thank Dr. Nabors, Tender Touch Home Care, Mtn. Valley Hospice, and all friends and family for their love and support.
