Traphill Mr. Charlie Parks, age 92, of Roundhill Church Road, Traphill, passed away, Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Elkin Healthcare. Mr. Parks was born October 30, 1915 in Wilkes County to Walter Lee & Emma Holbrook Parks. He was a poultry farmer and a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, and four sisters. Survivors include: a brother, Marvin Parks of Vermont; a sister, Myrtle Mann of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Sandy Creek Baptist Church by Bishop Ralph Hampton and Rev. Owen Dobbins. Burial will follow at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
