Roaring River Mr. Henry Ford Shepherd, age 91, of Shepherd X Road, passed away Friday, April 8, 2005 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Shepherd was born January 18, 1914 in Wilkes County to Lloyd Timothy & Molly Harris Shepherd. Mr. Shepherd was a self-employed carpenter and was a member of New Light Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Attis Pruitt Shepherd. Survivors include: a son, Tim Shepherd of Roaring River; a stepson, Ralph Johnson of Bartlet, TN; a stepdaughter, Patsy Roach of Bartlet, TN; two sisters, Irene Blackburn and Larcie Jolly both of Roaring River; two grandchildren, Brent Shepherd and Cynthia Mickel; two great grandchildren, Carlie Mickel and Katie Mickel. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at New Light Baptist Church by Rev. David Key. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Shepherd will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
