Ronda Mrs. Era Lee Pardue Prevette, age 86, of Old Hwy. 60 Ronda, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Prevette was born October 15, 1918 in Wilkes County to Richard & Joyce Smith Pardue. Mrs. Prevette worked at East Wilkes High School as a substitute teacher and in the cafeteria. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she was a past president with WMU and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eli Prevette; a brother, Harold Pardue, a son-in-law, Jim Weaver. Survivors include: three daughters, Elaine Weaver of Troy, NC, Dorry Mathis and husband Ray of Jonesville, Karen Baity and husband Leonard of N. Wilkesboro; four grandchildren, Ron Weaver and wife Dedie, Ryan Weaver and wife, Kennetha Weaver, Wendy Crater and husband Marty; Jill Crater and husband Rodney; nine great grandchildren, Jordan, Hannah and Morgan Weaver; Arron and Allison Weaver; Alex and Reagan Wright, Meghan and Cameron Crater. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Dennis Murphy, Rev. Elmer Barker and Rev. Ryan Weaver. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Prevette will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to WMU at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
