Cecil Allen Key

Jonesville Mr. Cecil Allen Key, age 83, of Westbrook Street, Jonesville, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at Britthaven of Wilkesboro. Mr. Key was born May 3, 1924 in Surry County to Herbert Allen & Catherine Key. Mr. Key was a veteran of the United States Army and served during 1954-1956, he was a retired farmer and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Max Key, Hassell Key, Rex Key; three sisters, Ruth Beeson, Elizabeth Wagoner and Georgia Long. Survivors include: his wife, Irene Gentry Key of the home; a son, Jeffery Allen Key and wife Cathy of Graham, NC; a brother, Larry Key of Statesville; two sisters, Shelba Lawson of Elkin, Kay Jolly of Roaring River; two grandchildren, Devin Key and Kristin Key of Graham, NC. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 25, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ivan Dameron and Rev. Monroe Huffman. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, Ronda, NC 28670.
