Mary Elizabeth Tucker

Mary Elizabeth Tucker passed away Friday May 9 at her home in Statesville. She was born May 25, 1918 in Yadkin County to James and Mary Dudley Tucker She married Noah W. Tucker on November 23, 1935. They had two sons and two daughters. Mrs. Tucker had worked as a personal care assistant for Patterson Rest Home and also in private residential settings. She was a self taught musician and a wonderful cook who enjoyed playing with her grandchild and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband of 54 years, Noah W. Tucker, one son, Renford D. Tucker, one grandson, Walter Tucker, and seven brothers and two sisters. Three children survive her, Josephine Stroud of the home, Sharron Parish of Statesville, and J. LeRoy Tucker also of the home. Surviving grandchildren include Becky Hartline Paul of Statesville, Liz Turnage Michael of Charleston, SC, Kelly Rosenbalm Jeff of Troutman, Patrick Parish Shannon of Charleston, SC, Andy Parish of Los Angeles, C A, Matthew Parish of Charleston, SC, Angel Parish of Charleston, SC, Jeff Tucker of Statesville, and 15 great-grandchildren. A special family friend, Kay Payne of Troutman, also survives her. Funeral services for Mrs. Tucker will Tuesday May 13, 2008 at 2pm at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Tom Corbell. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. At other times the family will be receiving friends at the home of Josephine Stroud.
