Elkin Mrs. Mary Louise Yale Fowler, age 86 of Oakland Drive, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Fowler was born September 24, 1921 to Zack & Etta Mae Hinson Yale. Mrs. Fowler was the owner/operator of a beauty shop in the Elkin area for many years. She was a member of Charity United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Mallory "Mack" Clinton Fowler; a sister, Nina Mae Yale, brothers, Boyd Raymond and George Maynard Yale. Survivors include: a sister, Phoebe Joyce Yale Cole of Roanoke Rapids, a brother Jack Carson Yale and wife Dorthalene of Traphill; two stepdaughters, Paula Whitaker of Elkin and Peggy Banks of Mount Airy; a stepson, Roger Lyons and wife Betty Jo of Lexington; two step grandchildren, Clint Whitaker and wife Jenny and Brandon Whitaker and wife Kimberly. Funeral services will be held at Charity United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007 by Rev. Rex Cranfill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Fowler will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
