Mrs. Frances Barnette Elliott, age 78, of Ivy Circle, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Elliott was born October 18, 1926 in Forsyth County to Bascom & Sue Durham Barnette.

Mrs. Elliott was a member of Elkin First United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Appalachian State University where she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Frances retired from Yadkin County School Systems where she was a guidance counselor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles C. Elliott.

Survivors include: a son, Chris Elliott of Columbia, SC; three daughters, Debbie Kielwein and husband John of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, Leslie Elliott of Carrboro; Stephanie Elliott of East Bend; a brother, Bill Barnette and wife Peggy of Nebo; a sister, Jo Ann Brown and husband Shorty of Elkin; two grandchildren Leigh Ulrich and Louise Brock; two great grandchildren, Michael Ulrich and Adurey Ulrich.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 6, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin First United Methodist Church by Rev. Stuart Roten.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Alzheimer's Association at Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive #999 Charlotte, NC 28215-3220 or to the donor's choice.
