James Junior Chipman

Mr. James Junior Chipman, age 71, of Brian Center Statesville, formally of Elkin, passed away Sunday January 30, 2005. Mr. Chipman was born April 13, 1933 in Surry County to Eugene and Belle Chipman. Mr. Chipman was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Dale Chipman and a sister, Zella Sparks. Survivors include: A sister, Thelma Calloway of State Road. Three nieces and their husbands, Nancy and Ralph Cox, Linda and Glenn Owings all of State Road. Beth and Dale Presswood of Greer, SC. One Nephew and his wife, Tom and Cathy Calloway of Valdosta, Ga. Four great nephews, three great nieces and three great great nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 2, 2005 at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am by Rev. Richard Cardwell. Burial will follow at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-8:30 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
