Elkin Rev. Robert G. Wolfe age 70 of Dogwood Lane passed away Saturday May 12, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Rev. Wolfe was born in Surry County July 22, 1936 to Odell and Margie Cook Wolf. Rev. Wolfe was a Veteran of the US. Army serving during the Korean War, he was a retired United Methodist minister serving the Western North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church for 35 years and affiliated with Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Rev. Wolfe was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 51 years Fern Hayes Wolfe of the home; two sons, Jeff Wolfe and his wife Star of Dobson and Dale Wolfe and his wife Paula of State Road; one daughter, Angela Wolfe Shumate of Clemmons; and one sister Daisy Wolfe Rector of State Road. Six grandchildren, Kendra Burress, Dylan Wolfe, Monty Wolfe, Zachery Wolfe, Trey Shumate and, Ashleigh Shumate; two great grandchildren, Taylor Wolfe and Christopher Burress. Funeral services for Rev. Wolfe will be held Tuesday May 15 at 2pm at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jim Sanders and Rev. Bobby Swaim. Burial will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30-8:30pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
