Robert Garland Tucker

Elkin Mr. Robert Garland Tucker, age 81, of Tucker Drive, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Tucker was born April 29, 1927 in Wilkes County to Haston & Elsie Norman Tucker. Mr. Tucker was retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Macemore Tucker; his second wife, Eva Billings Tucker; three brothers, Herman Tucker, Carmel Tucker, Charles Tucker; a sister, Grace Holbrook. Survivors include: two sons, Keith Tucker and wife Becky of Lexington, Kenneth Tucker and wife Julia of Elkin; three grandchildren, Barry Tucker and wife Amber, Jessica Tucker and Craig Tucker; on great grandchild, Ella Tucker. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Russ Nixon. Burial will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
