Ronda Mr. Rodger Charlie Combs, age 52, of Cemetery Street passed away Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Combs was born June 14, 1956 in Surry County to Arlis and Dorothy Blevins Combs. Mr. Combs was a member of Ronda Baptist Tabernacle and was retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Lee Combs and a sister Reba Mae Ashley. Survivors include; his mother Dorothy Blevins Combs of Ronda; two brothers Rufus Ray Combs and his wife Claudia of Ronda, and Raymond David Combs of North Wilkesboro; three sisters, Ruby Fay Jenkins of Dobson, Retha Jane Woodie and her husband Ernest of Ronda, Bonnie Combs Byrd and her husband Rodney of Roaring River, and also several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Combs will be held at 2.00pm Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Ronda Baptist Tabernacle, conducted by Rev. Mark Hall, Rev. Matthew Foster, and Rev Steve Blackburn. Burial will follow at Ronda City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8pm at Hodges Funeral Home.
