Nellie Parks Dimmette

July 14, 1911 — January 20, 2006

Mrs. Nellie Parks Dimmette age 94, passed away Friday January 20, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Dimmette was born in Wilkes County, July 14, 1911 to Edmond and Claudia Shepherd Parks. Mrs. Dimmette was of the Baptist faith and a lifetime member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Roger Dimmette, a daughter Mary Jane Dimmette, one brother Bret Parks and three sisters Ruby Billings, Ruth Parks and Lynette Linville. Survivors include: one daughter Betty Lyon and her husband Baxter of Ronda, two grandchildren Perry Lyon and his wife Donna and Penny Lyon all of Ronda, and one great grandchild, Brandon Lyon, Funeral services will be held Sunday January 22, 2006 at 3:00pm at Pleasant Home Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Kenneth Jordan. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made Pleasant Home Baptist Church. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center for the love, kindness and special care that was provided for not only our mother but to the entire Dimmette family.
