Ruth Aileen Pardue

November 1, 1923 — February 4, 2005

Roaring Gap Mrs. Ruth Tharpe Pardue, age 81, passed away Friday February 5, 2005 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Pardue was born November 1, 1923 in Wilkes County to Conard C. and Ada Johnson Tharpe. Mrs. Pardue was retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company and was a member of Ronda First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Pardue was preceded in death by a sister Ada Dimette and a brother Lewis J. Tharpe. Survivors include; her husband Roby C. "Sec" Pardue of the home, one son Cliff Scott Pardue of Ronda, one daughter and son-in-law Bobba P. Gentry and husband Mack of Elkin. Three brothers, Frank M. Tharpe and wife Betty of Advance, Charlie E. Tharpe and wife Nina of Ronda and Conard C. Tharpe Jr. and wife Gene of Mooresville. Four sisters, Susie Tharpe Poplin of Ronda, Frances T. Key of Roaring River, Hope T. Combes and her husband Hoover of North Wilkesboro, and June C. Tharpe of Poquoson Va. Two grandchildren, Amber Gentry Russell of Elkin and Jamie N. Pardue of Austin. One great grandchild, Savannah Hope Russell of Elkin. A memorial service will held Tuesday evening February 8, 2005 at 7:00pm at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Joe Blackburn. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
