Russell Spencer Allred

March 30, 1923 — June 17, 2007

Thurmond Mr. Russell Spencer Allred, age 84, of Oscar Callaway Road, passed away, Sunday, June 17, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Allred was born March 30, 1923 in Forsyth County to John Ralph & Lillian Lolene Smitherman Allred. Mr. Allred was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, American Legion, NALC and NARFE. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II and retired from the United States Postal Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thurman Allred; a sister, Edith Cyr. Survivors include: his wife, Louella Futreal Allred of the home; a daughter, Tammy Allred Schuyler and husband Lowell of Thurmond; two grandchildren, Amber Schuyler, Brittany Schuyler; a great grandchild, Connor Schuyler; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church by Rev. John Attaway. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites provided by Yadkin County VFW. Mr. Allred will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
