State Road Mr. Fitzhugh Jackson "Red" Hash, age 84, of Grassy Creek Drive, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Hash was born April 22, 1922 in Ashe County to Walter Allen & Cordelia Esther Pugh Hash. Mr. Hash was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II where he was a POW. He retired after 25 years with Union Camp Box Company and was a member Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Carter Hash; an infant daughter; a brother, Clarence Hash and a sister, Sylvia Smith. Survivors include: his wife, Mabel C. Hash of the home; a sister, Hazel Carico of Richmond, Va; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tim Lane and Rev. J.P. Sizemore. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell West Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, Jonesville, NC 28642.
