Elkin Mrs. Vadie Louise Luffman Money, age 88, of Johnson Ridge Road, passed away June 26, 2009 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Money was born April 12, 1921 in Wilkes County to James Bradford & Mamie Love Luffman. Mrs. Money was a hairdresser and was a member of Forbush Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Wagoner, Hazel Cook and Verlie Freeman; two infant brothers, Earl & Merle Luffman. Survivors include: her husband, Arlen Money of the home, two sons, James Keith Money and Arlon Gayle Money both of Roaring Gap; two daughters, Judy Money Walker and husband Bill of Elkin, Shelby Money Pettyjohn and husband Crawford of East Bend; brothers, David Luffman and wife Peggy, J.B. Luffman, Jr. and wife Bennie all of Ronda; a sister, Pansy Byrd husband Mack of Ronda; grandchildren, Lynn Pettyjohn, Lisa Williams, Lori Pettyjohn, Rex Walker, Chris Chamberlain, Tracy Bagley, Meredith Money, Al Money, Jr., Jamie Bartenhan, Ashley Money; nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Keith Money, Rev. Rex Walker and Rev. Gwyn Anderson. Burial will follow in Little Elkin Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Hugh Chatham Nursing Center or to the Woltz Hospice Home.
