Mr. Jack B. Darnell age 66 of Eli Smith Rd. passed away Friday May 13, 2005 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Darnell was born July 22, 1938 in Surry Co. to Rastus and Annie Lee Mickle Darnell. He was retired from ACC Corp., a veteran of the
U.S. Army and a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Darnell was preceded in death by a brother Bobby Joe Darnell.

Survivors include his wife Linda Holbrook Darnell of the home, one son Jones Brian Darnell of Raleigh, One daughter Julie Darnell Blaker of Elkin, three brothers Glen Darnell and wife Zula of Yadkinville , Tony Darnell and wife Bonnie of Roaring River, and a special brother Grady Mickle and wife Doris of State Road. Two grandchildren Lindsay Blaker and Brody Blaker, a special sister -in-law Trixie Darnell of Elkin , several nieces and nephews, and special friends Mary Lou and Phillip Cheek.

A graveside service will be held Monday May 16, 2005 at 6:30 A.M. at Cool springs Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Russ Nixon and Jeff Walsh. The Family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-9 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Cool Springs Baptist Church.
