Charlotte Kathryn Louise Stuckey Erlandson departed this life on March 20, 2006. She was born on May 25, 1922 in Marion Ohio to Ella and Ernst Stuckey. After graduating summa cum laude from Ohio University, she married Ray S. Erlandson, Jr. In addition to raising three children, she taught piano before beginning her career as a special education teacher for the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools at Elizabeth and Billingsville Schools. She was a 20 year breast cancer survivor. Kathryn was an avid reader and charter member of the "Literary Club". She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cribbage, crossword puzzles, and bingo. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Stuckey and her sister, Virginia Smoot. She will be greatly missed by her children, Ray S. Erlandson III of Nashville, TN; Dr. Steve Erlandson and his wife, Linda of Elkin, NC and Lisa E. Watson of Matthews, NC; her grandchildren, Blythe and Ben Erlandson, Adrien Erlandson and Mike Bell; and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Lucille S. Spetnagel of Smyrna, GA and Barbara S. Ehrlich of Anderson, IN. A service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at the Brian Center Apartments, 5945 Reddman Road, Charlotte.
