Mrs. Virginia Connie Pipes age 83 of Mining Ridge Church Road passed away Friday December 22, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Pipes was born October 10, 1923 in Wilkes County to Charlie and Mary Belle Cheatwood Casey Mrs. Pipes was a homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Pipes, two sisters Kathleen Casey and Stella Sparks, and one brother Ira Casey. Survivors include, one daughter Phyllis Darnell and her husband Ricky of State Road, one granddaughter, Julie Arnold and her husband Danny of Jonesville, three brothers Sam Casey, Billy Casey and his wife Mildred, and Carl Casey and his wife Betty all of Traphill, One sister Ruby Barker of Elkin and several nieces and nephews Funeral services for Mrs. Pipes will be held Tuesday December 26, 2006 at Union Baptist Church at 2:00pm conducted by Rev. John Attaway and Rev. Danny Henley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Pipes will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will accept flowers or memorials can be made to Union Baptist Church or Hugh Chatham Nursing Center.
