Beatrice Goforth Comer

Hodges Funeral Home, Inc. Elkin, NC 526-4462 fax Jonesville Beatrice Goforth Comer, age 86, of North Park Drive, passed away Saturday September 25, 2004 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. Mrs. Comer was born in Wilkes County August 30, 1918 to Newton Parks and Retta Wells Goforth. Mrs. Comer was a homemaker and a member of Temple Hill United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Howard Comer, and a son, George Lee Comer. Survivors include: Two sons: Howard Davis Comer of Crickett, Roger Lynford Comer of Oakboro. One daughter: Retta "Lou" Comer of Elkin. Six grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Renee Comer. Ten Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 28, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Temple United Methodist Church by Rev. Mike Songemy. Burial will follow at Sandy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Comer will lie instate thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Yadkin County. Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin is serving the Comer Family.
