Jonesville Mrs. Mary Jane "Janie" Johnson, age 91, of Trailer Drive, Jonesville, passed away Tuesday, May 06, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Johnson was born February 24, 1917 in Wilkes County to Benjamine & Margaret Sidden Caudill. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and was a member of Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Johnson; three sons, Roy Johnson, Will Johnson, Lester Johnson; an infant daughter; three brothers, Rev. Boyd Caudill, Mason Caudill and Garwood Caudill; two sisters, Norma Lyon and Minnie Caudill. Survivors include: six sons, Zeb Boyd Johnson and wife Margaret of Roaring River, Claude Robert Johnson and wife Lee Ann of Tobaccoville, Rev. John Hobert Johnson and wife Linda of Hays, Sam C. Johnson and wife Brenda of Ronda, Walter B. Johnson and Larry M. Johnson both of Jonesville; a daughter, Mary Pauline Walsh and husband Gary of Jonesville; two sisters, Myrtle Elvira Lyon of Wilkesboro, Nancy White of Fayetteville; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church by Rev. Walter Hutchens and Rev. Garwood Caudill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Johnson will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center for their kind loving care and support. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Little Stone Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
