Elkin Mrs. Lucy Marion Anderson, age 75 of Pleasant Hill Drive passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Anderson was born May 21, 1935 in Surry County to Eugene and Eva Johnson Marion. She was a member of East Elkin Baptist Church and attended East Elkin Full Gospel Church. Mrs. Anderson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and she was an organ donor because she gave her heart to Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers and a grandson Marty Anderson. Survivors include her husband of 58 years Jack Anderson of the home; three sons, Steve Anderson of Traphill, Randy Anderson and his wife Donna of Jonesville, Tim Anderson of Elkin; one daughter Kathy Childress and her husband Dennis of Jonesville; one brother Ralph Marion and his wife Katy of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Angie Childress, Kristy Parsons and her husband Kyle, Stephanie Anderson, Josh Anderson, Brooke Anderson, and Kyla Anderson; two great grandchildren, Zoey Blevins, Justin Anderson; and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be held Thursday, September 9. 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev.Lee Freeman and Rev. Jerry Childress officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at Elkin Funeral Service.
