Hamptonville Mrs. Bonnie Sue Pardue Hemric Clayton, age 83, of Hamptonville passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Heritage Healthcare of Elkin. Mrs. Clayton was born January 31, 1926 in New Castle, NC to Robert & Dare Myers Pardue. Mrs. Clayton was a homemaker and was a member of Union Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She loved writing poetry, researching and recording family history. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband R. J. Hemric, her second husband, James Clayton; a son, Stephen Gregg Hemric; three brothers, Phola Pardue, Kermit Pardue and Robert Pardue, Jr. Survivors include: a son, Kevin Clayton and wife Peggy; a daughter, Lynn Poindexter and husband Jerry; a daughter-in-law, Terri Hemric all of Hamptonville; four sisters, Fuchsia Pardue, Virginia Walker both of Hamptonville; Nada Coleman of Greensboro, Ann Wodruff of Elkin; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Union Baptist Church by Rev. Kenny Pardue and Rev. Russ Nixon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church. Special thanks to caregivers at Heritage Healthcare of Elkin and roommate Audrey Key.
